STOP, Student’s Taking On Prevention focuses on empowering youth to stand up and be heard about health issues that affect all teens, including prevention of alcohol use and drug use. We engage in peer-to-peer education and community presentations. Members of the STOP program receive special training and lifetime experiences through various activities, conferences and other opportunities. CVMS STOP meets regularly on Tuesdays after school during tutoring in the GT room (B31) and occasionally during lunch periods for special activities. All students are welcome to attend the STOP meetings. However, members must complete a Membership Packet to participate in special activities on and off campus. Contact Allie Ramsey for more information, 782-8611 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
MEFIYI (Me-for-Incredible-Youth, Inc.) is offering its REWARD Program Wednesdays during advisory at Carson Valley Middle School. REWARD provides student-athletes with information, planning and discussion how to enhance both their scholastic and athletic high school and college aspirations. The program is led by MEFIYI Staff JoJo and Suzi Townsell and will include guest speakers from University of Nevada, as well as local non profit organizations who serve our local youth and community volunteers. The goals of REWARD is to assist our student-athletes becoming high school graduates, offer life skills training, and prepare students for higher education or vocational training and an employed workforce. For information, email email@example.com or see our "Clubs and Activities" page under the "Students" tab. A parent permission slip is required.
Beginning February 28, 2017, all volunteers must complete and submit a volunteer packet prior to any volunteer activity on site.
