CVMS Leadership class loading over 3,500 individual items donated to aid victims of the Carr Fire in California. The collection dates were August 16 through August 30. Nice work everybody!

CVMS Girls Volleyball Tryouts

Volleyball Tryout Dates:
8th grade-Dec 10-11th from 2:30-5:00
6-7th grade-Dec 12-13th 2:30-5:00
All girls trying out must have current paperwork into the office by 8:00 am on Dec 10th in order to tryout. The athletic packet is on line on the CVMS website or can be picked up in the office. If you do not have your paperwork in, you can not tryout. If you have played or tried out for a sport here at CVMS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE NEW PAPERWORK FILLED OUT.

CVMS Girls Volleyball Open Gyms

6-7-8th grade girls who are thinking about trying out for the CVMS girls volleyball team this year will need the following information:
Open Gyms-These are opportunities for the girls to practice prior to the tryouts.These are not manditory, but a chance for the girls to get ready for tryouts. Girls do not need to have their paperwork in for these open gyms. Dates-Nov 20th, Nov. 29th and Dec 4th. The times are 2:30-4:30.

SPELLING BEE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
PAU-WA-LU MIDDLE SCHOOL; JANUARY 30, 2019; 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, located at 701 Long Valley, in Gardnerville, will
be hosting the Douglas County School District Middle School Spelling Bee
on January 30, at 8:30 AM. The Bee gives 6th, 7th and 8th Grade students a
chance to shine and enjoy friendly competition with their friends and
classmates.
One winner from each grade will have an opportunity to compete in the
Nevada State Spelling Bee scheduled for March 9, 2019 in Las Vegas.
Homeschool students and private school students are invited to attend and
should contact Rommy Cronin at 775-782-7170 by January 23, 2019, to
sign up for the District Middle School Spelling Bee. Students and schools
must be enrolled in the Scripps National Spelling Bee to be eligible to
participate in the Nevada State Spelling Bee. Information about the Bee
can be found at www.spellingbee.com.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the District Spelling Bee,
you may contact Rommy Cronin-Mack, Executive Director - Area 3, at
775-782-7170.

CVMS Book Fair December 3-7, 2018

The Book Fair will be at CVMS from December 3-7th. It will be open before school, at lunch, and after school. It will also be open for shopping in the evening before the concert on December 5th. All proceeds go toward buying new books for the library. Parent volunteers are needed. Please contact Mrs. Reck at kreck@dcsd.k12.nv.us if you would like to help.
