All girls trying out must have current paperwork into the office by 8:00 am on Dec 10th in order to tryout. The athletic packet is on line on the CVMS website or can be picked up in the office. If you do not have your paperwork in, you can not tryout. If you have played or tried out for a sport here at CVMS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE NEW PAPERWORK FILLED OUT.

SPELLING BEE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
PAU-WA-LU MIDDLE SCHOOL; JANUARY 30, 2019; 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, located at 701 Long Valley, in Gardnerville, will
be hosting the Douglas County School District Middle School Spelling Bee
on January 30, at 8:30 AM. The Bee gives 6th, 7th and 8th Grade students a
chance to shine and enjoy friendly competition with their friends and
One winner from each grade will have an opportunity to compete in the
Nevada State Spelling Bee scheduled for March 9, 2019 in Las Vegas.
Homeschool students and private school students are invited to attend and
should contact Rommy Cronin at 775-782-7170 by January 23, 2019, to
sign up for the District Middle School Spelling Bee. Students and schools
must be enrolled in the Scripps National Spelling Bee to be eligible to
participate in the Nevada State Spelling Bee. Information about the Bee
can be found at www.spellingbee.com.

Congratulations to the four CVMS students that won recognition in a recent fire prevention poster contest. Maile Pierson, 1st place middle school; Abby Miller, 2nd place middle school; Kylie Minder, 3rd place middle school; and Chase Tamanaha 3rd place 5th-6th elementary school are all winners. CONGRATULATIONS! Additionally, a super thank you goes out to those individuals and organization that made this special for all the participating students, they are: the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada; Bart Chambers, Chief of the State Fire Marshal Division; Sylvia Lee, Fire Inspector of the Reno Fire Department and VP of the Fire Prevention Association of Nevada; Steve Eisele, Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshal of the East Fork Fire Protection District, and Brook Enos, Fire Inspector of the East Fork Fire Protection District. Look to the fire prevention billboards across the State, beginning October 1, 2018, and know the artwork was done by one of the talented artists, specifically Maile, from Carson Valley Middle School.
