Yearbook index pages replaced in 2018-2019 yearbook

Dear parents/guardians of students who purchased a 2018-19 CVMS Yearbook:

We write to inform you that we have conducted a thorough investigation into the circumstances which led to the CVMS yearbook being published with derogatory names in the index. The investigation revealed that the adults failed to fully proof the index and that bullying did occur. The CVMS progressive discipline policy has been followed in addressing the incident on the student level and we are working with the District to take appropriate measures on the adult level.

The administration has worked with the publisher to reprint the index pages with the correct names of students. The new pages are called “crack and peel” and have a fully adhesive back which can be placed directly over the original pages. We will be mailing the replacement pages as soon as we receive them to each family which purchased a yearbook.

The school administration has worked with district staff to modify our yearbook review process to ensure that nothing like this will happen again. We extend our sincerest regrets and apologies that our students received a memory book which does not meet our expectations for publication.
